Grace Watson is a graduate from Concord University in Athens, WV with a Bachelor's in Communications Art with an emphasis in Journalism. With skills in social media marketing, newsgathering, proficiency in AP style, among other key skills, she hopes to showcase her work and elevate her career through writing the opportunity.
Write the Opportunity is a combination of blog and portfolio that will offer potential clients and readers alike the ability to read blog entries, articles written for other publications, informative videos relating to Journalism, and creative works such as a self-published poetry book.
I wanted to start this webpage due to my unsuccessful attempts at landing a job opportunity in my preferred field, so I have decided to take, in this case, write the opportunity for myself. In the pursuit of honing my skills, I may hone in on a job.

INTRODUCING MYSELF
Hello! My name is Grace Watson and welcome to my website. This is my online portfolio of all the wonderful projects and news pieces that I have had the opportunity to create and publish throughout my time at college. I graduated in December 2021 with honors and a Bachelor's in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Journalism as well as a minor in English. The content published on this website will pertain to my hope of someday soon becoming a reporter/journalist.
Content will be mainly written news pieces, as well as a few videos of newsreels, donut spots (30-second commercials), and news segments. Over my college career, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a number of incredible projects that have allowed me to grow and establish myself within this competitive industry. The Borgen Project is a grassroots organization and national advocacy campaign against global poverty. It has been recognized by U.S. political leaders across the nation and large publications. It has a traction of over 4 million visitors to its website and has helped to pass legislative bills targeting global development.
- Pitched and wrote 9 SEO-friendly research articles over 12 weeks regarding global poverty and human rights to be published on The Borgen Project blog and/or magazine.
- Reached out to my state congressional leaders via phone and e-mail in support of poverty-reduction legislation.
- Mobilized 21 individuals to contact their congressional leaders to help advance poverty-reduction legislation. - Fundraised over $500 through email and letter campaigning for poverty-reduction legislation.
